Data Center Power Calculators
Rack PDU capacity, UPS runtime and PUE — the three numbers that decide how much equipment a cabinet can actually carry.
Power is the constraint that binds first in almost every modern deployment. A cabinet with 42U of space routinely runs out of amps at half that, and the arithmetic that gets you there is easy to state and easy to get wrong: apparent power versus real power, the 80% continuous-load derate, and the fact that two feeds buy availability rather than capacity. These calculators cover the whole chain from breaker rating to usable kilowatts.
- PDU Load CalculatorCalculate usable rack PDU capacity in kW from voltage, breaker rating and phase, with the 80% continuous-load derate and N+1 redundancy applied.
- UPS Runtime CalculatorEstimate how long a UPS will support your load from battery capacity, string voltage, inverter efficiency and depth of discharge.
- PUE CalculatorCalculate Power Usage Effectiveness and DCiE from total facility power and IT equipment power, with overhead breakdown.
